Reflections

Reflection about what I learned when I studied the Sinai War and the Six-Day War

Studying these two wars helped me understand that history is more than just dates or fights. Behind every war, there are many reasons, like politics, religion, and also the help or influence of powerful countries. The Sinai War and the Six-Day War showed me that the conflict in the Middle East is very complicated, and not only about the countries that fight, but also about the countries that support them.

I learned that I should not believe only one version of a story. I had to read different sources, compare them, and try to understand why each side sees things in a different way. This helped me think better and not believe everything I read. I learned to ask questions.

It was also challenging to organize all the information, but I tried to focus on the most important aspects and how the events relate to one another. In the end, I felt good because I explained why these wars are still important today.

More than just learning facts, this project helped me be more understanding, more curious and better at seeing how the past still changes life today

Researching these two conflicts taught me that history is not just a list of dates or events, but a complex web of causes, interests, and consequences that continue to affect the world today. By delving deeper into the Sinai War and the Six-Day War, I realized how political decisions, the role of foreign powers, and territorial conflicts directly impact millions of lives, especially the Palestinian people.

During this process, I strengthened my ability to thoroughly research, compare sources, and analyze different perspectives. I understood how crucial it is not to stick to one version of events, as each actor involved has their narrative. This helped me to develop more critical thinking and to appreciate the context behind each conflict.

In addition, this project gave me the opportunity to improve my skills in organizing ideas and working in a structured way, choosing what was most relevant to tell a clear and coherent story. I also understood the value of teamwork and leadership, sharing and contrasting opinions with others, and taking responsibility for seeking the truth beyond the superficial.

Beyond the data, what struck me most was the realization that historical conflicts are not just events of the past, but situations that still define the lives of many people today. This research not only made me more aware and empathetic but also more motivated to continue learning and leading responsibly on issues that matter.

Before this project, I didn't like working in a team. I preferred to do things alone because I felt I had more control and could go at my own pace. But as I researched these wars with others, I realized that group work can be very valuable. Listening to other ideas, dividing responsibilities , and building something together helped me see things from different perspectives. I learned to trust others more and communicate better.I also discovered how difficult it can be to find reliable information. At first, I thought everything on the internet was true, but as I compared sources, I noticed that many were contradictory or very biased. This forced me to dig deeper, question what I was reading and look for verified data. I developed more critical thinking and a better ability to distinguish between fact and opinion. One part I really enjoyed was using creativity to design a website. It was not just about putting up information, but presenting it in a clear, attractive, and orderly way. It helped me think about how to explain complex topics visually and simply, and to combine my interests in history and design. In short, this project made me grow a lot. Not only did I learn about two key conflicts in the Middle East, but I also improved my research, teamwork, and creative communication skills. I realized that when you step out of your comfort zone, you can learn far more than you expected.
